Amberlink Chicks

Since this is our first posting, I would like to start out saying we are a young family that LOVES chickens! We decided to embark on this journey together several years ago and we cannot be more excited. We're a special type of duo and each of us bring something special to Terrace Micro Farms.

Recently, we purchased 43 Amberlink chicks. These baby chicks have a large personality and love their new home! We built a chick brooder over the weekend designed to house approximately 50 chicks for a couple of weeks. At this point, we are unsure how long this particular breed will be able to stay in the brooder we have. It will all depend on how fast they grow!

Our brooder that holds roughly 50 baby chicks

This is probably the tenth time we have grown baby chickens, and my favorite part is listening to the sweet chirps. There is nothing like your day being brightened by the beautiful sound of two week old chickens.

Here is "Chirpy" herself!

From our farm to yours, thanks for dropping by!

  1. How did you settle on 43? How many other chickens do you have?

    1. Hello! My husband and I have purchased several batches of chickens these last few years. We have ordered them online and bought them from local farms and supply companies. We were actually looking for 50 but the supply store only had 43 available so we took them all! We have tried several breeds gauging their popularity in our area and plan on raising these chicks for enthusiasts such as ourselves in our community. Our current flock is about 1 year old and consists of several breeds such as Buff Orpington, Black Australorp, Red Star, White Leghorn, Ameraucana and even Buff Laced Polish. From this mixed flock of 15 chickens, we receive a beautiful mixture of about a dozen eggs per day.
